Plan a California beach vacation, visit a luxury beachfront resort, explore world-class shopping, or dine at the best restaurants in Orange County, CA – Tips and news to help you be an OCeanfront, CA expert.
At The OCeanfront's premiere beach resorts, a team of expert concierges are waiting to guide you on an insider tour of the Southern California coast. Here are their top insider tips on what amazing summer fun you can have off the beaten path... don't miss out!
Award-Winning Concierge, Patrick Hynes (one of only five Orange County concierges to recieve recognition from the international Les Clefs d'Or hotel society) says:
"The concierge desk likes to send guests to a 'secret' spot. Castaways Park is a very easy walk, jog or bike ride less than a mile from the resort. This 25-acre park offers a spectacular view of the villages of Newport Beach (Corona del Mar, Balboa Island, Balboa Peninsula, and Lido.) Our tranquil Back Bay Ecological Preserve is a highlight of Newport Beach and provides a beautiful view of the entire boat marina.

We can also arrange for guests to rent an electric Duffy boat for a self-guided tour of the Harbor (maps or a driver for guidance can be provided). We suggest they tie up at The Dock (a little known and quite charming outdoor restaurant overlooking an inlet) for lunch, brunch, or early dinner before heading back to the resort; or guests can dine on a picnic provided by room service right on board their boat."
Concierge, Carol Leenert's Top Tips:
"This summer, don’t miss Pageant of the Masters and the amazing Art Festivals in Laguna Beach. Have an adventure and try stand-up paddle-boarding! And don't forget to check out the tide pools at Treasure Island Beach, which is located directly in front of Montage!"
The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort
Concierge, Alexander Gonzales suggests:
"For romance, a gondola ride with your favorite beverage. To reconnect or for family bonding, I recommend a simple bonfire. For excitement, I suggest surf lessons or paddle boarding. Then again, why leave the hotel? Enjoy a glass of wine or hot tea at the bonfire at Shades Restaurant, especially during wine tasting or while watching the Mankota Ceremony at the pool. The Mankota ceremony is a huge firedancing summer show happening every Friday and Saturday at dusk - it's something to see!"
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel
Senior Lobby Concierge, Olga Mason recommends:
"There's so many amazing ocean activities to experience, like jet skiing out of Dana Point Harbor, whale watching in the Harbor, chartering a sailboat and touring Dana Point Harbor."
